2007 Idaho Central Regional Scholastic Chess Tournament
(March 3, Hailey, ID)

Crosstable Flyer

The 2007 Central Idaho Regional Scholastic Chess Tournament was held in Hailey, Idaho on March 3, 2007. Fifty-seven (57) players attended. The time control was Game/30. This event was the first jointly sponsored event between the ICA and the Blaine County School District (or Wood River High School) this decade. It is also the first time Adam Porth and Jeff Roland directed a tournament together.

There were some very nice games, especially on the top boards. One game in particular, the Round 3 game between Caleb Kircher and Carl Harmon proved very intense and exciting to the spectators, which consisted of almost the entire playing field that formed a rather large circle respectfully distanced around the game and ended with well deserved round of applause.

Two elementary school players, Carl Harmon and Luke Harmon, played up into the High School Section. Both played very well and placed in the top 5.

And now for the awards... Every player in any section who did not win a trophy won a medal.
