2007 ICA Summer Classic Chess Tournament
(July 14-15, Twin Falls, ID)

Crosstable Games Flyer

Victor Watts won the 2007 ICA Summer Classic Chess Tournament with a score of 4½ points. Graham Unger and Luke Harmon tied for 2nd-3rd place with a score of 4 points.

The tournament was held at the Obenchain Insurance Building in Twin Falls, Idaho. While Idaho was experiencing the hottest July in recorded history, the tournament was played in a pleasant air-conditioned room.

Four states were represented at the event. Players came from Idaho, Utah, Wyoming, and Florida. There were many very finely played games in this tournament. There were even some very nice "upsets" by the young players including a very nicely played game from round 1 in which Carl Harmon III beat top-rated Randy Zumbrunnen, throwing the tournament wide open right from the start.

ICA plans to make this an annual tradition and build on the success of this tournament.
