Obituary, Friday, April 12, 1968

Roy Samuel Parker

NAMPA -- Services for Roy Samuel Parker, 79, of 516 Ninth Avenue South, who died Thursday morning in a Nampa hospital, will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Nampa Church of the Brethren by the Rev. John Hunter, pastor of the church. Interment will be Lower Fairview. Friends may call at Alsip Chapel until Saturday.

Born Oct. 18, 1888, at Herman, Minn., he was reared in North Dakota. He came to Nampa in March of 1919 where he since had resided. He married Bertha Vetter on Oct. 28, 1941. He farmed in the Lone Tree area for many years and retired from farming in 1941. He later worked for the Nampa School District and was a custodian for the Nampa Church of the Brethren and the Masonic Temple for many years. Mr. Parker was a member of the Nampa Church of the Brethren.

He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Bertha Parker, Nampa, and a number of cousins. He was preceded in death by two brothers, two sisters and his parents.
